II didn’t dream of becoming a bookkeeper.
I said yes to an opportunity I barely understood — and had to figure it out while already in deep.
When I started my bookkeeping business, I had:
No clients
No systems
No idea how to price my services or talk about what I offered
I had a business degree — but no real-world training for this.
No one tells you how to manage taxes, juggle multiple clients, or stay confident when imposter syndrome creeps in.
So I taught myself.
One mistake. One spreadsheet. One late-night Google search at a time.
It wasn’t glamorous.
It wasn’t perfect.
But it worked. Because I kept going.
And through that process, I realized I wasn’t the only one.
So many women are out there looking for more — craving flexibility, stability, and purpose — and bookkeeping keeps popping up as a possibility.
But they hesitate, thinking they need a degree, years of experience, or a certification before they can even start.
She Built It Anyway exists because I didn’t wait for any of that.
